Youth Learn-to-Row/Development
Maritime Rowing Club’s Youth Learn to Row and Development Programs draw elementary, middle school and high school aged rowers from all over Fairfield County.
Development 1
This is a NEW introductory program geared towards children in the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade. Classes are running for 2 weeks at a time with the ephasis on learning rowing basics and making fitness fun. All classes are in our 10 seat indoor rowing tank. Young athletes will Improve stregth, fitness and flexibility all while learning to enjoy the sport of rowing.
Development 2
This program is geared towards middle school and beginner/recreational high school athletes. No experience necessary! Athletes work on rowing fitness and skill both on land and on the water. Boat handling skills and safety are emphasised as well as fitness, strength, flexibility, mental toughness, and discipline. Programs are offered year round with 1.5 hours sessions 3 times a week.
The Maritime Rowing Club proudly offers youth rowing programs for all ages and abilities.
