Learn To Row

Maritime Rowing Club is proud to be part of the National Learn to Row Day sponsored by USRowing and Concept2 that will take place in June 2017. As, part of the nation wide program the boathouse will be open to anyone interested in learning how to row absolutely FREE OF CHARGE.

Our Learn-To-Row program is 8 classes of 1 ½ hours of instruction that include: proper warm-up, rowing technique for sculling, how to handle boats on and off the water, and team rowing positions in the boat. The dates for instruction are flexible WITHIN the schedule listed at the right.

Learn-to-Row students may be intermingled with more experienced rowers as they progress. After completing the Learn-to-Row program, they will row with the experienced rowers and can choose either a competitive or recreational program.

If you decide to join our club after you’ve taken a Learn-to-Row course, we’ll credit the Learn-to-Row fee toward your membership. The Learn-to-Row fees may be applied two times toward your annual membership fee.
