Fairfield County’s Premier Rowing Club
The Maritime Rowing Club trains on the historic Norwalk River and is Fairfield County’s best rowing experience. Offering Competitive, Recreational & Learn-to-Row for all ages and abilities.
Maritime Rowing Club is a team-oriented organization where all members work together to provide an enjoyable rowing experience in both sweep and sculling (with two oars) boats.
The team is composed of rowers from all over Fairfield Counties local schools & towns including; Darien, New Canaan, Westport, Fairfield, Norwalk, Greenwich, Rowayton, Wilton, Easton, Stamford, Weston, Ridgefield and has a strong reputation of sending athletes to top level collegiate programs as well as US National Teams.
Since 1996, rowing programs have been offered for all ages and skill levels, from Elementary School, Middle School & High School Learn-to-Row to Masters competitive racing & recreation. Programs are offered year-round.

Long Term Athletic Development
MRC’s main focus is creating the love of rowing for life though long-term athletic development. Our athletes follow a planned and thorough approach to sport. From to start to finish our main focus is the INDIVIDUAL ATHLETE! This development of rowers helps us develop athletes that are passionate for physical activity for LIFE.

Sculling development of Youth Rowers
Developing our athletes through sculling (rowing with two oars) gives us the ability to ensure our athletes are developing versatility, technical foundation, symmetrical development and have competitive opportunities.


Rowing Tanks
MRC also develops its athletes in our 10-person rowing tank with both sculling (with two oars) and sweeping available at a mere oar change. Furthermore, the facility is capable of handling 40 athletes including rowing machines, spinning bikes and weightlifting equipment available as well.

Indoor Training Facilities
Maritime Rowing Club is proud to offer Fairfield Counties most comprehensive rowing indoor training center. The facility is proud to have a comprehensive weightlifting and cardiovascular equipment. Including a Rogue Weight lifting rack with 24 weightlifting stations. Furthermore, the facility has an additional 30 + ergometers, 12 Bike Ergs, 12 Ski Ergs and 8 Treadmills.

Our coaches have over 100 years of coaching experience and proven track record. MRC past and current athletes include Olympians, US Nationals Team members including 18 National Youth Championships won.


Consistent training methodology
MRC is proud have all of its coaching staff work closely together! Providing a clear and through path for our athletes to learn and row with consistent training & coaching methodology from Learn to Row Development to High Performance programs. The main focus of the program is our Long-Term Athlete Development with hopes of creating a lifelong passion for rowing.
Our main focus is on the long-term athletic development for all ages and abilities.

Developing our athletes through sculling (with two oars) or rowing with two oars gives us the ability to ensure our athletes are developing while building skills that cannot be found in other types of rowing.
Our state-of-the-art rowing facilities include a 4,000 square foot indoor training facility with new up-to-date rowing and weight lifting equipment.Β In addition to this, our indoor rowing tank facility gives our athletes the ability to row year-round in any type of weather conditions.

Junior Programs
Our Junior Programs are for elementary school, middle school, and high school athletes, with programs each season.
Rowing Waivers & Safety Video
At Maritime Rowing Club, safety is our prime concern. All rowers must watch the USRowing Safety Video each season as a reminder of safety on the water. The video can be found here:
All rowers must have completed the online waiver, emergency contact, and medical authorization forms before they can participate. You will be required to complete these forms out during the online registration process. If you are coming for a trial, please complete the appropriate waiver(s) below.
All adults and youth that participate in regattas MUST also have a USRowing Championship Membership or USRowing Basic Membership plus Regatta Add-On.Β Please visit USRowing for more information.
