September 19th was a busy Sunday for Maritime rowers, as masters and juniors headed out to separate regattas — GMS, in New Milford, CT, where Masters and Juniors competed in singles and doubles; and Mystic, CT, where Masters competed in the 19th annual Coastweeks Regatta.
Conditions at Mystic were sunny and relatively calm with only a light headwind. Maritime took medals at Mystic in the Masters/Veteran recreational singles (Rob Schoen, Sharon Macey, silver each; Eric Rambusch, bronze); Women’s 2X (Gay Gasser, Leslie Freed, gold), Women’s Verteran Single (Leslie Freed, gold), Mixed Double (Bob Potts, Gay Gasser, bronze), Women’s Masters/Veterans Quad (bronze). Complete results are posted on the Ronin Racing website.
At GMS, where the water was just as calm and the day just as sunny, both Juniors and Masters competed, with New Canaan Crew winning medals in nearly every sculling category. Too many to mention here, but results are posted at Powerhouse Timing website.
More photos from Mystic are posted in an album on our Maritime rowing Club Facebook page. Thanks to Elizabeth Tobey for the Mystic photos.
