Racing at a stroke rate of 36-38, Andrew Campbell and Will Daley won the men’s lightweight doubles competition at the National Selection Regatta in Chula Vista, CA, this morning. They came out strong and maintained a lead of about a third a boat length throughout the entire 2000 meter race.
Campbell joins Charlie Cole and Dan Walsh in the journey toward gaining a seat in and Olympic boat in London this summer. Walsh, who won a bronze medal in the men’s eight the last Olympics, and Cole, who recently qualified for Olympic trials in the men’s pair, both learned to row under MRC coach Yan Vengerovskiy.
